In an effort to rebrand itself as a higher end coffee shop, Dunkin’ is investing $60 million in brand new equipment for all of its cafes. The new smart brewers are designed to make higher quality coffee and provide more consistency and will be easier for employees to use. The new equipment will give more variety to customers as well as reduce waste.
These changes come as an effort to lure in more customers and provide value deals, trendy food items, and better customer service. Sales at American Dunkin’ stores were at a 0.7 percent increase than the previous year. Similarly, after installing better espresso equipment, Dunkin’ saw espresso sales jump nearly 40 percent year-over-year.
