Manufacturer Adding New Equipment and 125 Employees

Following the success of its 2021 product launches and increased demand, Perlick is preparing the first major expansion to its manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters since the 1960s.

The FEDA manufacturer member, which specializes in commercial bar solutions, is planning a multifaceted project that includes a complete remodeling of its offices, updated associate amenities and a new in-house photo and video production studio designed to enable omnichannel digital marketing partnerships with customers.

On the manufacturing side, the project will create optimizations expected to improve Perlick’s production capabilities and output to meet the significant increases in the demand the company has experienced since last spring. The facility will add a state-of-the-art Trumpf fiber laser/punch capable of laser cutting and secondary punching on one machine, improving operational efficiencies and throughput. The company has also installed a vertical lift module that will increase the speed and efficiency of its small parts picking operation. Finally, all the lighting in the factory will be changed to energy-efficient LEDs as part of Perlick’s commitment to sustainability.

“With multiple scheduled innovative product launches in the queue for 2022, these improvements will help us concept, design, engineer, manufacture and market products more efficiently to keep up with increasing demand,” CEO Richard Palmersheim said. “Every update and investment we are making furthers our commitment to providing our customers with the best quality products in the best possible lead time.

Work on the expansion and remodeling began at the end of 2021 and is expected to continue through 2023. In addition to growing its facility, Perlick will add to its workforce. The company plans to add 125 new positions globally by the end of 2022 compared to the start of 2021.
