Warehouse and Showroom Mark Curtis Restaurant Equipment’s First Foray
Outside Oregon

According to the fall 2017 NPD ReCount report, Boise, Idaho, was one of only 18 markets in the county to increase its restaurant count the previous year. That growth, combined with a base of existing customers, made it a lucrative target for expansion for Oregon-based Curtis Restaurant Equipment.

The company opened its fifth location and first outside of Oregon in Boise this past February. Located about five hours from its existing office in Bend, Ore., the new Boise location is well positioned to expand Curtis’ presence in the Northwest. “With all the new restaurants opening in the Boise market, it’s a really exciting market for us to get into,” Director of Marketing Karlee Steingrobe said.

Curtis Restaurant Equipment already had several customers in the Boise market and COO Ryan McPhail said the new location will allow it to cater to even more clients. “It just makes it a little bit easier logistically when it comes to warehouse transferring and being there physically,” McPhail stated.

The 12,000-square-foot location is staffed by five employees and includes an office, warehouse, and showroom, enabling the distributor to highlight a full line of equipment from refrigeration to smallwares. A demo kitchen is undergoing permitting and is expected to open later this summer.

Although it began operations in February, the new location waited until June 7 to celebrate its grand opening. “We’ve been really well received by the community so far,” Steingrobe said. “It’s a very exciting time for our company and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for us here.”
