H-MAK Purchase Gives Great Lakes West Path into Pittsburgh Market
Great Lakes West, a Michigan-based dealer and FEDA member, has acquired H-MAK, a Pennsylvania-based foodservice equipment installer and distributor.
According to Great Lakes West, the purchase will result in better service for H-MAK’s customers by offering state-of-the-art design capabilities and increased competitiveness to the foodservice industry. H-MAK will continue to operate under the same name and all its employees are expected to remain with the company. H-MAK President Adam Cohen will continue to lead the brand, which will retain its presence in Pittsburgh even as it becomes a division of Great Lakes West.
“What Great Lakes can offer in the design-build market is tremendous and, more importantly, the tools they use in the design process are part of many transformational technology trends that will shape the future of our industry,” Cohen said. “I cannot wait to introduce it to Western PA and beyond.”
The acquisition will allow the country’s 27th largest foodservice equipment and supplies dealer to grow even larger. “Adam Cohen and the H-MAK team are experts in providing and installing foodservice equipment throughout the eastern United States,” said Marc Israel, partner in Great Lakes West. “H-MAK is the perfect addition and we are looking forward to becoming more involved in the Pittsburgh food scene.”
