Announced at the National Restaurant Show last month, ServSuccess is NRA’s comprehensive career-development program that includes online education, training, assessments, as well as certification.
NRA says its goal is to prepare foodservice industry workers for professional advancement and career opportunities, while also helping employers to recruit and retain good employees. The challenge for operators to find skilled employees for both front- and back-of-house is ongoing and was also mentioned by several speakers during the FEDA Annual Conference, as was the need for distributors to provide solutions to enable smaller restaurant staffs.
The program provides professional certifications for restaurant professionals, supervisors, and managers; online learning suites, and interactive study guides to promote learning and retention.
“ServSuccess empowers people and businesses to aim for and achieve even higher levels of career success in the foodservice industry,” said Dawn Sweeney, the association’s president and CEO. “By validating their skills and knowledge, employees will be able to use their years of experience to jumpstart their professional advancement. For restaurant operators, it provides training and workforce solutions that grow business and service to their communities.”
