Gathering ‘Round The Water Coolers

Frequent travel, missed meetings, busted technology, and supply chain woes — all of those things are frustrations professionals in the foodservice equipment and supplies industry wrestle with every day. But as anyone knows, sometimes the best way to deal with a challenge is just to laugh, and that’s where The Water Coolers come in.

Appearing at the FEDA Annual Conference for the first time, The Water Coolers is a musical comedy troupe whose performance will touch on the most humorous and absurd aspects of selling foodservice equipment and supplies. Since making its New York club debut in 2000, The Water Coolers have become one of only three acts to be awarded twice with a Spotlight Award for Entertainment of the Year and are now internationally recognized as a premier act for corporate events.

The Water Coolers draws its performing cast from the New York City comedy and musical scene. Actors have performed in renowned clubs like Igby’s and Broadway shows such as Chicago, In the Heights and Jersey Boys. The group’s writing team is headed by Tom Allen, one of the creators of the long-running off-Broadway comedy Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding. Allen’s other comedy credits include numerous appearances on The Conan O’Brien Show and as the voice of Peanut on Comedy Central’s Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law.

Tapping into that talent and experience, The Water Coolers’ stage performance features recognizable tunes such as Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Bohemian Rhapsody and Adele’s Hello but with comedic lyrics about office and sales lifestyle. The performance will provide a funny take on what it’s like to work in the foodservice equipment and supplies industry, ensuring that conference goers will see their own experiences reflected on the stage.

This can’t-miss performance will take place during the FEDA Annual Conference’s opening session on Sept. 18.
